action research progress
My action research,
Staff development effectiveness, is an action research project that will
measure the effectiveness of staff developments that are recommended by school
administrator. Staff development can be an extremely important tool that can be
used by teachers in the classroom. Learning new and different techniques that a
teacher can use in the classroom, can allow young teachers to become successful
in the classroom. For my action research there will be several steps. I have
asked for and received a list of all staff developments that will be recommended
by administration. I have found that they are spaced out at about one per
month. And range from classroom management to classroom technology. My plan
incudes a preliminary survey that will ask questions on staff developments from
prior years. After the preliminary survey, I plan to survey after every staff
development asking for input on relevance of the staff development. Did the
staff development provide useful information that can be used in the classroom?
I will survey teachers that participated in the staff development, followed by
an interview that will check on implementation of information provided. This
process will happen after every staff developments provided by administration.
Once the last staff development takes place, all the information gathered will
be analyzed. Finally, there will be ending interviews with certain volunteer
teachers. These teachers will be interviewed on the staff developments they
attended. The final interviews will also ask what kind of staff developments
would be more beneficial to classroom teachers. After all the information has
been put together and analyzed, the results will be discussed with the site
supervisor. Any changes that need to be made after this meeting will be made.
The final report will be done and a report will be given to the principal
